2009 update

So!  Wormhole Messiah was published in December ‘08 and is sure to rock theological physics circles worldwide.  More information at the Wormhole Messiah Headquarters.

In other news, the Queer Zine Archiving Project (QZAP) just released a zine called QZAP: Meta #1 that I contributed to.  Check them out at http://www.qzap.org.

I’m designing the cover for Corina Fastwolf and Phlox Icona’s Sugar Needle #34, the fine candy zine that we should all have a copy of.  More information once that’s put out.

LASTLY, I’ve started working on a graphic novel that I’ll plan on self-publishing at the end of 2010.  It’s a big project for me and I’m dang excited.  From what I can surmise, it’s about dinosaurs and radical social movements.  Here’s a couple sketches.

Cool!  Take care, everyone.   Bye bye.

Still a’workin…

So, most comic energy has been directed towards a new zine that I’m working on with bem, sci-fi aprocrypha sandalpunk kinda stuff.  It’ll be possibly slated for a Jan. ‘09 release, maybe?  Check out MoveDanceCreate and The Worbly Press for updates.

Have I been reading?  I’m on #6 of Liz Baillie’s My Brain Hurts, recently read Jeff Lemire’s Tales from the Farm…I’m reading Saugus to the Sea by Bill Brown right now, and Upski’s Bomb the Suburbs along with Are Prisons Obsolete? by Angela Davis will be with me while I’m out of town next week.  Otherwise, school, school, school.  Here’s a quick something I drew for a school project.  Bye.

Whoa, Nellie.

Hey there!  So, I’ve been a little caught up in a life that goes from swell to swollen, what with Bethe Lattice bible study with bem and still finding time to read comics and bake bread.  BUT, I updated the ‘website’ with some ads that I did for Meat located in Portland, and I also just finished a new Homobody, #4.  It is pretty awesome, I must say as an unbiased observer.

Hey!

So, the ‘08 Portland Zine Symposium was awesome– never was there more love in crumpled one dollar bills– and I’m still getting back to all the rad people that I met there.  Also, the Zinesters Talking night at the Hollywood Library branch was similarly great– Sarah Swingset was a terrific orator and the audience was all too supportive and fun.  I’d love to get in contact with anyone whose contact info I didn’t get, so drop me one of those electronic letters I’ve been hearing so much about.

I just finished two zines in the last week (one of those weeks!), Weird Sea Creatures of the Sea: Beluga, and Gay Lithp.  I’ll post some pictures and have those on the distro soon.

And in the world of comics, I’m reading Chris Ware’s Acme Novelty Date book 1984-1995, Little Nemo in the Palace of Ice by Winsor McCay, Jason Lutes’ Berlin: City of Stones, and I just finished Osamu Tezuka’s Budda Vol. 6. GOOD SEQUENTIAL ART, EVERYBODY.

Also, I put up two paintings I did for some cool kids that I know.

I promise to eventually figure WordPress out…until then, I’m at the mercy of many convenient shortcuts.
